NEAR TO TIBET

It was the cold day of the winter. Unexpectedly, we got the information about a visit to Tatopani and China border on the previous day. I was not sure whether I would go or not. So, at first I thought about not to go over there. Then, everyone suggested me to visit over the place because it would be very beautiful and new as well. So, I made up my mind to definitely visit the place. The night got even darker and then my eyes indicated for rest.

The night passed by and gradually the clock travelled to the beginning of the dawn. It was still dark and then I woke up. As usual morning activities, but it was a little bit earlier that day. So, I packed my bag with clean clothes and we went to the micro van where everyone else were waiting for us. Still it was very dark. We left for the destination at about 5 am. Everyone were familiar in the van. We played the songs in the van but the song entertained us only when there was darkness outside. As fast as we were moving towards our destination, the sun was also in a rush to shine throughout the whole day. Time passed and the dawn arrived. The sun rose in a short while. Then the surroundings situated outside the van started to get visible.

We took left from Dhulikhel and begun to experience the surroundings of the north. The road was quite good for a while but it came to its original form i.e. totally devastated and dusty after that short kilometers of length. Then, we saw the Paanchkhaal of Kavre district where there was massive amount of vegetable production. Similarly, we even saw the Palanchowk Bhagwati temple located at the top of a hill. Not only we were moving forward but the time was accelerating as well. The warmth of the sun was begun to be felt by our skin when we reached to Dolalghat. We took a little rest over there. The umbrellas roof of that place was quite attracting. Other members of the travelling group begun to take photos under the umbrella roof. After that very short rest, we again continued the journey. After sometime, we took the route of Sindhupalchowk district. There came the option either to move left to go to the headquarter of the district i.e. Chautara or to move right to go to the place we were heading to. So, we took the right path i.e. the path less travelled. Then, our journey continued by making river Indrawoti our friend for a certain interval. I cannot believe the scenery over there. It was out of any literature praising’s capacity. The north part has got the mother of beauty. The beauty of nature over there could not be described by any person or any book. It literally attracts the viewers so strongly that they could hardly take away their eyes after observing the nature over there. The hills, the crystal clean river, the stone, the rock, the greenery and everything over there. The nature has that power to be beautiful in everyone’s eyes and heart. Still the journey was left to be covered and we just looked that beauty of nature and beautiful waterfalls and praised them in our heart.

Finally, we arrived at Tatopani market. We got out and moved straight to the bath house. It was Magh first and even tiger takes bath on that day. The water was so hot that the person could bath over there continuously for thirty seconds only. The natural hot water in that cold area was itself a strange feature of the Mother Nature. We took at least one and half hour over there and worshipped at the Sringeshwor Mahadev temple. Now, the final destination left was visiting the Tatopani border.

It was still a long journey for the border. There were a lot of development projects running on on the way. A lot of caves and various projects of constructions. The posters were written in Chinese language. Everything were giving the vibes of China over there. It was literally like entering in China. It’s strange that the development projects were conducted by Chinese company only.

So, the sun even started to become hotter and we reached near the destination. At first, we ate the food which was like a picnic for us. Everyone was attacked by the hunger and the food provided us so much relief like how a thirsty person feel when he gets cold water to drink. As I mentioned earlier, it was literally like a picnic for us all.

There was the hill located in Nepal and another hill located at China. The hills were separated by a big Himalaya river. We went through the gate and stepped on the bridge which was known as Nepal-China Friendship Bridge. Actually, the bridge area belongs to Nepal. In fact the river also belongs to Nepalese territory but it is considered as border. From the bridge, the Khasa city could be seen very clearly. It was so strange and unbelievable that the whole city was situated on the hill. In our country, we cannot see even a house of 5 stories on the hill. But over there, the whole Khasa city with those massive buildings was situated on the hill. The Chinese border was so secured that there were concretes and nets as well as close circuit cameras at every few meters of distance. And on our side, there was nothing. Even at the border we had got the police instead of Armies. I looked at the Khasa city. We were not allowed to cross the middle gate of the bridge. Only local businessmen of the district were allowed to go to China or Khasa city for trading purpose by showing some kind of special pass.

And I was saying that I looked at the Khasa city from the bridge. I literally felt that it was a foreign land. It was a strange city. I felt that why people don’t want to go to foreign land or why they remember and praise own motherland even when they are getting special services at foreign land. It is simply because a strange place is a strange place no matter how beautiful and fully facilitated it is. Motherland is far superior to any other land. We observed the border for half an hour. We then returned back to the van from there. Other relatives bought many Chinese product from the border but I was only thinking of returning to home and had a good sleep. I got headache and I was partially asleep while returning from the journey. There were many hives of honeybees hanging on the hill. We generally call it vir mauri. So, we arrived back to home at the dark night. It was a wonderful journey as I saw the pure beauty of nature over there.
