SKETCHING ANIMATED CHARACTERS

 

I used to watch a few animations. The thing that fascinated me in those animations was the structure of the animated characters. When I had started to watch the animation, then it was not much popular like how it is right now. My friend had brought the downloaded version of the anime “One Piece” in his pen drive and had copied those in my pc because he had got his PC repaired at that time. So, I was not watching any of those episodes because I thought it was just a cartoon and why I would watch cartoon when there were a lot of fantastic movies and web series to watch.

The time went by and then my elder brother found that there were 198 episodes of “One Piece” animation in my PC. He said that he was seeking that anime for several years and couldn’t found it. He was so excited to found those episodes of “One Piece” in the PC and watched all of them within 5 days. He was again seeking for further episodes, but due to the lack of internet he was unable to watch it. After when my friend’s PC got repaired, then he copied all those episodes from my PC and also suggested me to watch it as it was a good anime. I watched all those episodes and found that the animation was quite interesting. Then when we got the internet facilities, I used to watch the “One Piece” animation all the time. When I reached its latest episode, then I started watching other animations as well.

There was a hype of animation in my school. We used to talk about the animations all the time in the school. Some used to tell the story while others used to tell the spoiler. I was quite interested in the design of the animated characters. So, I started to draw the sketch of those animated characters by myself. I tried a lot to draw as similar to that of the anime but couldn’t draw like that. Then I watched the youtube tutorial videos about how to draw animated characters. I drew a lot of animated characters by looking at those videos. It was quite interesting to sketch those characters.

The animated characters seem to be quite simple and easy to draw but actually it isn’t.

It took several hours for me to draw a single face of a character. So, it is quite hard to draw but it provides a lot of entertainment once you start drawing it. So, the sketches of animated characters require some sort of geometrical techniques. It require those circles, ovals, curves, straight lines, etc. to draw the required parts of characters. To draw a face, it requires the circle to be drawn at first for beginners. So, once the practice goes on then people become professional at drawing the animated characters without using any geometrical interpretations. I used to draw a lot of those characters by watching youtube videos but still I cannot draw a perfect sketch without watching tutorials. I haven't drawn any sketch since a few years. These above drawings were drawn by me about 4 years ago.
